Eye of the beholder

A week ago, we put this original Don Ricks painting in the estate sale. Nobody bought it. Following the suggestion of my brother Mark, we decided to donate it. I've been speaking with BYU-Idaho and they want it. I have done some research online, did you know that original Don Ricks paintings sale for between $5,000 and $10,000? Yeah, they do. And yet, we couldn't get a bite from our apparently uncultured rigbyites for the paultry sum of $400. Oh well, it will be an appreciated donation.

Back in the day (late 80s/early 90s), I bet ol' Don would have asked for 3-5k for this one. Maybe now that he's passed on, the value has gone up. Either way, BYUI is getting a heck of a deal. Could we get them to maybe put a little tag on it that says, "Donated in the memory of Dennis and Laurie Brown," I wonder. I think Mom would like that. Dad might too.

I will ask once its time to finalize the donation. I'm sure they can put something on the painting to that effect.

It would be great to go and see it on campus if it's ever displayed there. I like the idea of a dedication plaque too.
