Back on the wagon that I hate/love

About a year and a half ago, Shalee and I went on a diet. We stuck to it strictly for 5.5 or 6 months, then the holidays arrived. I fell off the wagon, and have been in a rapid downward spiral since.

Tomorrow that changes. Tomorrow we start again. I hate not eating all the foods that I want. I hate not being able to eat seconds of something that is delicious. I love the way I feel and the way I look. So, my vanity outweighs the desire for tasties. I'll update atleast weekly on the battle.

Wish me luck.

Dan, I'm taking a nutrition class, and it's really inspiring me to eat healthier and teaching me how. I'm determined to get my family eating better, slowly over time. One thing we've learned is that there's room for anything you want in a diet. You just have to learn to balance, eat as many fresh from scratch foods as possible, take out as many processed foods and trans fats as possible. One easy change to make is to drink skim milk instead of 2%. Another one is to use tub margarine instead of stick margarine or butter. I was amazed when I read the nutrition facts for each. I just got a tub of Blue Bonnet that has no saturated fat, and 3 fewer grams of fat overall per serving than the stick margarine. Little changes add up. Anyway, I highly recommend taking a class in nutrition. I'm glad you have the desire to be healthier. I wish there was a way to instill that desire in your brother!
