Small victories and highway driving

There it is. The DVD player I mentioned in my previous post. The installation was fairly smooth, with the exception of buying the wrong connector to begin with. Anyways, I was pretty stoked that I got it in with no wires showing. The boys loved having it on our drive to Burley yesterday. Our visit with B's birth-mom was really good. Honestly, he was a little more excited about her puppy than he was about his younger bio brother we were there to see, but he's two, what are you going to do?

This morning I made omelets for everyone who would eat them. They turned out pretty good. Since I make them once every two years or so, the fact that they were not egg flavored pieces of charcoal is a victory to me.

Lastly, have you ever been to Burley or Twin Falls? Have you driven the stretch of road between Burley and Pocatello? Do me a favor, make sure you fill up with gas. We stopped to help a family on our way home yesterday, they broke down exactly half way between American Falls and the Rupert exit. They needed gas which was basically 20+ miles in either direction. We got them some gas and returned to their car. They were grateful and we were happy to do it, but seriously folks, check your gas gauge.

I have made that drive many a time and that's got to be one of the most isolated, sucky places to be in need. Not a gas station, house, or human being in sight.
