Oh Happy Day!

In November I traveled to Nebraska to exchange vehicles with my brother. I took him my dad's Rendevous and I picked up my mom's caravan that had been left in Illinois when she flew home in September.

After I got back to Idaho, I borrowed the van from my Mom. It was a huge step up from the buick century I had destroyed over the previous two years. After Mom passed, the van became mine. It has been really nice to have. The down side, well, my dad installed after market power window mechanisms. The driver's side does not work. While I had my paper route, I used a hand crank that was part of the after market kit, meant to allow you to roll down your window if the motor or some other part fails. It was fine, I used the crank.

Because Murphy and I are close friends, he decided to make the crank less effective. Something came lose inside the door and I have not been able to roll up the window for four months. Yeah, I drove the coldest months of the year, with a window that only rolled 80% of the way up.

Tonight, with the help of my brother Dave and a pair needle nose pliers, I finally got the window up. It will be nice to drive down the highway without the wind blasting me in the face.

Mindy, Thanks for coming down. It will be great to hang out a little, but it also inspired me to fix the window and de junk the van so you could use it.
