Has been crazy-town! That about wraps it all up.
Since my mom passed away, my life and the lives of my family have been consumed by grief, love, memories and food. Yeah, lots of it. Each day has come with new challenges and feelings to deal with.
My two oldest brothers and their families stayed all this past week, between their efforts and those of us who live locally, the house has been dug through and organized(mostly). Most items of importance found new homes with the next generation. And I, through no effort of my own, have been elected the family historian. I am proud of my parents and I love them, but I compare the family historian job with being the poo checker at a 24/7 daycare. Not my favorite thing to do. Ah, the blessings of being the baby of the family.
The funeral was beautiful, for a wonderful, amazing woman. She deserved the best, and I think we gave her pretty dang close to it. So many people loved and love my mom, and rightfully so. She spend her life serving others, and enjoyed doing it. I'm glad that she and my dad can work together now. I miss them both, terribly, but they taught us the gospel, so I know what happens after this life.
Between planning a funeral, helping clean a house and sorting out what should go to who, my little family's life has been hectic. I am welcoming the quieter nights that are ahead, atleast for a bit. Now the job to finish off the house cleaning, organizing and selling falls to my brother and myself, but we have both declared its time for a few days off.
So what now? Well, there are things in the works, but I guess you'll have to read my blog to find out.

"Poo checker at a 24/7 day care" is the best thing I've heard in a long time! You are awesome, Dan, and I'm glad you've still got a great sense of humor. You deserve some time off!
Ditto Tyler-n-Terrah.
I don't think you should leave family in the lurch like that...tell Shalee to call and tell me whats in the works before I read it on your blog! HOpe you are doing well!
:) Good things, good things. I think we are due to have some of those, right?
Just don't do too much of that poop checking in the poo room. Hire Hazmat for that room...LOL! Srsly, it was a whirlwind, but I'm glad we made some progress. The funeral was beautiful, and spending time with you guys was great. Hang in there with the rest...I, for one, think you'll make a fabulous historian!! :-)
