When you become something you hope you aren't

It's no secret to you that I love to write. Or, that I mostly love the idea of writing. Let me tell you something, if it's easy for you to sit down and manufacture a story, kudos!! I hit the proverbial wall quite often, and it is frustrating.

Recently on another blog I expressed my disinterest at writing content for websites. While it still not my dream, it does keep me writing. Maybe I'm a content writer stuck in a novelists brain, or dream or whatever. Long story short, I don't abhor writing content as much as I thought I did.

Currently, I'm writing on a sight called Helium.com. I've written content in other places, but Helium being the flavor of the week, I'll tell you why I like it better. It appeals to my ego. When you submit an article, it gets rated by other writers on the site, for clarity, accuracy, grammar and spelling. While I don't know these people, and true, they may be as skilled as a blind ewok at rating articles, one way or another, they seem to like me ok. My articles have rated ok, each that I've submitted have continued to move up the charts. This non-existent pat on the back feels nice. To see that others have read and agree/appreciate what I had to say, feels nice.

Helium is all about writing what you know. Well, I know insurance. Boring, huh? I don't expect you to rush to helium and look me up. I don't even enjoy reading about insurance, but I can for the most part write about it.

You'll see a little link on the blog, and from time to time it will change, don't worry about, unless you really need to know why you need renters insurance. It's just there for my ego.
