What you are looking at friends, is my first ticket in over three years. All I can say is, if you're gonna do something, do it right. Therefore, not only did I get cited for driving a vehicle with no registration, but I also had forgotten to renew my driver's license. $172 in fines. Needless to say, I was not happy after receiving this. Because I am stubborn I decided to deny my charges and try my luck in front of the prosecutor. I have learned that I should be able to have my driving without registration dismissed, since I had only had the truck for a day, and Idaho law provides that you may drive a newly acquired vehicle for up to three days with no registration. Driving on an expired license will probably be another story, but it's worth a try. So this morning I had a visit with the friendly Jefferson County Magistrate Clerk, she was so nice, look at what she gave me:
Now you know my schedule for the morning of April 27th. That's what I get. I was just so excited that I had gotten the truck running, I had to try it out. Five minutes later I regretted it. It is what it is, at least I didn't get cited for failure to carry proof of insurance.
